I’m back at work full-time tomorrow for at least the weekend (YAY), so I imagine my rate of posting is about to go down. In the meantime, enjoy some more pictures of Isla!
The beach is just at the end of my street, only a few steps!
If I take this road all the way to the end and turn right, I eventually get to the grocery store.
Entrance to the beach, one of many.
Lots of garbage from the storm. There is work being done on cleaning it all up.
🙂
🙂
Best translation ever! Lony pants? Swimmer?
Sitting at Carmelita’s looking at the water. Internet was a bust, though.
🙂
Test my new flip flops (cannot believe I found them here and so cheap!).
I haven’t looked at a pulmonia up close, but it looks like a pickup with a roof and benches in the back. Very cheap. I think it’s 50 pesos to get from the panga (ferry) to my place. I’d rather do that than drive on these insane roads!
Here’s that main road curving around heading to the PAVED main street where I turn right for the grocery store.
Dale says that as long as houses are not finished, there are no taxes on them.
There are some REALLY nice houses here.
Notice the stairs?
No bannister! Welcome to Mexico!
I actually live on a proper street with a name!
Neighbour’s access to the roof. Notice that the ladder goes THROUGH the roof!
Love this elevated outdoor space. My only disappointment with my place is that the outdoor space is so closed in.

Nice….
Uh, SLIGHTLY different than last year….
How so, Boo?
The pulmonia truck on the Isla, very different from the pulmonia you will see in town ( Mazatlan ), should be 25 or 20 pesos. If you think the Isla roads are crazy you are in for a surprise.
My friends own that white house in the last photo and they do rent it, but by the year but the rent is so low it might be worth thinking about.
Thanks for my beach fix, now I need a photo of my place :))
Hello Rae and Merry Christmas. Just a short note to say how much we enjoy your reading your posts on life on the Isla. Love your down to earth and pragmatic observations.
