Bah, it’s another grey morning in San Antonio! I am almost 40AH down! I’m holding steady thanks to my solenoid, but I’m hoping that tomorrow’s promised sun materializes!

Looking at the forecast trends for the next several weeks, I am really not eager to start pushing north so I am once again revising my itinerary. Caroline will probably not be in Austin when I go through there, so I have decided not to stop in Texas’ capital on the way north. That said, Austin is only about an hour and a half from here. So as long as there is no problem with extending my stay here, I will probably visit Austin on a day trip and remain in Von Ormy longer than planned.

My route north takes me right through Dallas and I’ve decided that I simply cannot drive through there without visiting the Dealey Plaza! I’ve spent too much time researching and theorizing about the JFK assassination to not actually get on the ground there and see if my theories hold water.

So the plan now is to watch the weather in Wichita. As soon as it starts trending with days above zero, I will head north, and then hunker down there until it feels safe to push on… as long as L is home as he has travel plans in April. I hope we don’t miss each other! 🙁

I am beginning to think that I will likely end up doing a cannonball run to Canada at the very end of April or even beginning of May instead of a more leisurely pace that allows for sightseeing. Having to travel in the shoulder seasons sucks! 🙁

    Yes, go to Dallas! Dealey Plaza is a once in a lifetime requirement for us conspiracy theorists!

    When we were there we stayed at the Traders Village RV park in their overflow (no hookup) area for $22 per night. This is the swap meet area and the rest of the park was full. I don’t know if they allow you to park in the overflow otherwise. http://tradersvillage.com/grand-prairie/rv-park

      I think the government did it, the Babushka lady caught something on camera that she shouldn’t have, and that the government silenced her. It will be nice to stand in the area and get an idea of the vantage points.

      I don’t know yet if I will be staying in the area or not, or if I will drive through, drop the rig for a day, and then push on.

  3. Ah, at least staying down here in Texas longer keeps you warm. So sorry for the cloudy mornings…it really is very unusual but I did tell you it wouldn’t rain. Looks like a sunny afternoon at least here on my side of town.

    It’s sunny here. YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY. I won’t come close to a full charge today, but I’m definitely getting amps in!

  5. Yes Rae, I will be here in Wichita. The only thing that remains constant is that there are no constants. As your plans change just keep me posted. Enjoy the warm, it is colder than I like it here.

  6. My son is headed back to Wichita as I type this. My daughter is heading home from Lincoln, NE to avoid snow headed their way. i am not real sure I will be heading up there on the 26th, snow is a dirty word to this Texan. Last driving I did on snow was 27 years ago.

    • Caroline, we should stay in touch about our plans. I really do think at this point that I’ll just be doing a day trip into Austin, though.
