Getting Ready for a ‘Weekend’ Away

Tomorrow morning, I am setting off for BC’s capital, Victoria! I will be there for three nights and two full days, and will be taking my neighbour with me. We are going to meander our way down there and make several recommended stops on route. As for my itinerary in Victoria, it’s still very much up in the air. Many of the ‘must see’ attractions have a much too high cost to interest ratio. I’ll make up my mind when I get there.

It’s a little scary to go away for four days with so much left to do before departure, but I need some time off! 😀

  2. Hi Rae, here is a post I did about a trip we took to Victoria a few years ago. We didn’t spend much money on attractions, as there is so much to just look at. It’s amazing down there, the harbour, Fishermans Wharf, Ganzolas Hill. One thing you should spend a couple bucks ($30.00 i think) on is a High Tea at the White Heather Tea room in Oak Bay. It was incredible and a deal at any price.

    Have fun!

    • Neil, thank you so much for that link! I’m getting so much more excited about this trip. I might try the High Tea if I can fit it into my schedule, although I’m not sure this is something I’ll want to do alone (my neighbour and I aren’t going to be ‘hanging out’ since she has her own plans).

  3. Thank you. Having just finished reading your whole blog – from the summer of 2008 thru today – I am hooked. I wish that it would be an e-book. I would read it again if I did not have to do all the searching, scrolling past comment boxes, etc. I would definitely include the comments in the e-book. They add much depth to the story.

You weave a magic web that teaches, entertains and inspires – on many levels – that for me feels transformative. I was already planning to become a fulltimer before I retire (14 months), now I have to add blogging to my life – and have to stop reading blogs long enough to learn how to go about it; but before that I have to read all of Croft’s blog and …and…

I found you thru the Escapees discussion board, on the RV Housekeeping blog.

The bush with the pink bloom is a Camellia, (from yesterday’s 4/12 blog). I am now inspired to write the story of how a Camellia changed my life back in ’72. TTFN

Joan (45 Dragonflies on the SKP boards – but I haven’t posted yet).

    • Joan, I’m flattered that you’d like the blog in ebook form! I’ve long thought write a book as a complement to the blog; there is a lot in my personal journal that I haven’t shared with my readers.

Blogging feels like such a narcissistic endeavour but then I read a comment like yours and I feel like I’m doing something good for the world. Thank you for reading and taking the time to comment.

Best of luck with your plans; there is a wonderful life waiting for you!

(and thank you for identifying the flower!)
