Today was hot and sunny enough for me to turn my beach walk into an excuse to play in the surf.
There were paddle boarders having what looked like lots of fun. I’d like to try that. And surfing.
I love walking in the super shallow water, especially when I stumble into a dip that soaks me to my hips!
The skies were alive with birds of prey… and airplanes.
I always forget to not wear a long skirt when I’m going to play in the surf. This type dries really well, but wraps around my legs while it’s wet and rather hobbles me.
This stingray did not fare as well as the last one I saw.
I saw several of these dark blue jelly fish, too.
You must be feeling better. Glad to see that.
Why not wear capris or longer shorts when walking the beach? You would have much more freedom of movement and you would still be decently dressed.
I haven’t been THAT badly off this week. I’ve gotten in all my walks and runs and even did the lighthouse climb yesterday. Just feeling tired and sore.
I wear to the beach whatever I’m wearing that day. Sometimes it’s short sundress, sometimes it’s capris, sometimes it’s a long skirt. I don’t over think these matters. 🙂
That blue jellyfish is a young Portuguese Man O War. The tentacles
on that size creature can extend about 4 feet down. Found that out swimming some years ago. Feels like deep paper cuts. Took 2 stiff Margaritas to lessen the pain.
So that’s what a Man O’ War looks like! Definitely not going into the water!
Sea creatures give me the creeps. Espicially the larger variety with teeth. The last time I went in was in the Lybian sea on the south shore of Crete, I could hardly breathe…
