Dreams Travelers Have

It was really cold last night by expected Mexico standards and I woke up around 4AM feeling very muddled about my situation. I had been dreaming that I was up in the Arctic. So when I woke up to the chill, my sleep addled brain thought, “That’s what you get for visiting the North Pole in November. Time to head south!”

I doubled up the blanket and fell back asleep only to wake up, properly, about thirty minutes later, thinking, “Huh? I’m pretty sure I’m not up north. I’m also not at Haven. Where am I? Oh, RIGHT. Mexico. The tropics! Well, that was false advertising!”

And I fell back asleep.

I’m putting the -10C sleeping bag on the bed tonight with the flannel sheets. And adding socks to my flannel PJs. So basically dressing like I would dress at Haven for bed at this time of year, minus the heating pad. Thank goodness the days are so gloriously warm! 😀

  1. Are you serious? If you are cold now you better have me bring you some warm stuff cuz it does get a tad chilly in January. How cold is it at night right now?

  2. I am serious and I’m just resisting add more layers to the bed so I can acclimatize! Cool downs have been brutal since my weight loss and I try not to indulge them too early. I have lots of layers I can add to the bed.

It’s mid teens, I think, at night. I know, I know, but the house is MUCH cooler than outside and doesn’t retain heat.

  3. This is serious. I just checked online and Mazatlan is 55F with a feel like 51F. here in Mountain Home Idaho it is 49.6F. However we shall continue the trek south if only for the heat and sun of the days.

  4. The 10 Day forecast is for night time lows to be in the low 60s Fahrenheit (the small degrees) in Mazatlan. That is about 20 degrees warmer than my mornings which I think are great and only 10 degrees below what my high temperatures are forecast to be. Perfect night time temperatures for me but your high temperatures are a little too hot; neither my dog nor I like it much over 80 for the high.
